Preetu Muley Pandey, the Founder & Chief Interior Designer of Pree D’fine was tasked with transforming an old and basic structured house in Mumbai into a luxurious monolith 2 BHK apartment with stunning sea views.
Drawing on her creative flair and eye for detail, Preetu customized all the furniture in the living room from scratch, ensuring that every element worked together seamlessly. The standout feature in the space that truly stole the show was the mirror that perfectly aligned to let one enjoy the sea view, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery even when seated in the opposite direction from the sea. The mirror was carefully selected to be thin and frameless, perfectly complementing the minimalist and modern aesthetic of the apartment.
But Preetu's vision didn't stop there. In order to create a calming vibe without revealing the source of light, she used profile lights strategically throughout the space. And to truly make the apartment feel like a home, Preetu took great care to soften all the sharp edges in the ceiling and furniture, creating a sense of calm and tranquility that permeated every inch of the living space.
Preetu's careful consideration of the apartment's colour palette was a testament to her design expertise. With a focus on mono-colours, the space exuded a sense of understated elegance and simplicity. Light grey tones were the predominant colour used throughout the apartment's walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, creating a soothing mood that was perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. The use of these light grey hues helped to create a sense of spaciousness and airiness, making the apartment feel open and inviting.
To add warmth and texture to the space, she also incorporated wooden textures into the design. These natural elements brought a touch of organic beauty to the apartment, balancing the coolness of the grey tones with a sense of warmth and comfort.
Preetu's extraordinary design skills were on full display in the master bedroom, where intimacy and coziness were the top priorities. Soft, glowing yellow lights were strategically placed in the space, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The warm mushroom shades and subtle textures further enhanced the monolith vibe. Preetu tells us, “The master bedroom was outfitted with ample camouflaged storage space, ensuring that clutter was kept to a minimum.” These storage solutions also added character and charm to the space, giving it a unique and personalized touch that truly set it apart.
In the kid's bedroom, Preetu took a more playful approach, designing a custom football-themed wall backdrop that reflected the child's love for Messi and football. This vibrant and energetic space was designed to be flexible and all outdoor sports were adaptable to the child's changing needs, with plenty of storage, a dedicated studying area, and a comfortable sleeping area.
Imagine stumbling upon a hidden gem - a black, sculptural bar counter that's as functional as it is stunning. From afar, its sleek design draws you in for a closer look. The bar counter can be used from both sides for ultimate ease of access, making it perfect for hosting parties and social gatherings.
When you enter the dining area, you are greeted with an abstract sculpture that instantly captures your attention. The play of light emanating from behind the sculpture adds a magical aura, captivating the senses and igniting the imagination. It is mention worthy that the sculpture has been made using the same finish as the walls.
Each room in the apartment features a stylish lounge area where you can unwind and bask in the breathtaking sea view. And for a truly immersive experience, even the bathroom boasts a picturesque view of the sea.
All in all, the clean and minimalist design coupled with the neutral colour palette chosen by Preetu was a masterstroke in creating a calming and restorative space. The minimalistic approach ensured that the focus remained on the stunning sea views, while the carefully curated use of colour and texture added depth and character to the apartment's design. It was clear that every detail had been carefully considered, resulting in a space that was both beautiful and functional.
